  4.     If you are one of those who payed the shareware fee for 3Tris/3Wiz!, first of all:

  14. Your money will be used for developement stuff, to produce new shareware/PD programs for the Apple platforms!

  16. If you haven't payed yet, remember that shareware programs help keep the price of ﾒregularﾓ programs lower and that building a program is a big effort, expecially for young math students that spend most of their time on books (ok, I'm exagerating now!).
  17. If you think 15$ is too much, let me know how much you think is appropriate. Suggestions, bug reports, postcards are always well accepted EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T PAY the shareware fee!

  20. What will you find here.

  22.         There is a folder called (reasonably enough) ﾒThe 3Wiz! folderﾓ. Inside it you can find the 3Wiz! game in two versions, one for color machines, the other for black and white. 3Wiz! is just the new version of 3Tris (from version 2.3). I had to change the name for copyright reasons.

  25. How to install.

  27.             Just drag the needed application (color or b/w) to your hard disk. You can also drag the whole folder, if you think you might need both the versions (i.e. to install it on a disk shared by both color and black & white machines).

  29. ･･･ Launch the game and select first item of the ﾒhelpﾓ submenu under the ﾒplayﾓ menu for an explanation of the game

  33. New stuff if you had an old version.

  35.             3wiz! has many new features! You can make it more difficult or much (very much!) easier than it was before: you have a brand new ﾒDifficulty Levelsﾓ submenu, under the ﾒPlayﾓ menu. Every item means ﾒeasier gamesﾓ if checked. For instance you can avoid those tremendous 3D shapes everybody hates so much, or play in a deeper hole so making one damned small error will not mean ending the game!

Absolutely nobody wrote me that 3Tris/3Wiz!  was TOO EASY! Anyway, you can also make the game harder now, unchecking the ﾒAlways same orientationﾓ item. This will cause shapes to be randomly rotated before appearing, and to all those that finally had got used to the position of appearing shapes this may be a shock! Use at your own risk!

  39. LEVELS ARE MUUUCH SLOWER! Everybody insisted on this, but for those that can go on playing a half an hour at level nine, don't worry! I slowed down level 0 and increased the difference between each level, so that your level 9 is still the same.

  41. There is also a LEARN MODE (thanks William!) and a whole ﾒSpeed Levelsﾓ submenu that lets you choose a default starting mode (that is saved on the disk) and also lets you speed up/slow down the game while you play.

  43. Everything under the ﾒPlayﾓ menu is selectable while playing: i.e. try  choosing ﾒDeeper Dwellﾓ  while you play!

  45. **** IMPORTANT! About the Drawing Modes ****
  46. Under the ﾒUserﾓ menu there is a ﾒDrawing Modesﾓ submenu tha allows you to change the ﾔlookﾕ of the game a little: You should leave both items unchecked using the color versions on a screen with 16 colors or more. On 4 colors screen you should check the ﾒThick black linesﾓ item or some blocks will look like melted toghether, with no lines separating them.
  47. With the b/w version you'd better try one or the other or none, because I'm still not really sure what's best (I play with none checked, but it sometimes may be confusing).
  48. Oh, by the way, on b/w machines you may find it easier to play WITHOUT the ﾒDeeper Dwellﾓ option (in the ﾒDifficulty Levelsﾓ submenu).
  49. Old 3Tris was with ﾒThick black linesﾓ and without ﾒThick shape linesﾓ or ﾒDeeper Dwellﾓ.

  51. *** KNOWN PROBLEMS ***
  52. Nothing serious at the moment, but please let me know in case you find any bug!
  53. What I know now is that with Now Menus some menu icons (all ﾔreducedﾕ icons) are displayed in black and white, but I think this is a problem of Now Menus itself, not mine.
  54. If you find  any problems, expecially if you have large screens at big depths (many colors) try incrementing the application's memory partition: in the Finder, select the 3Wiz!  application and type Command - i; set the size (or sizes if you have System 7.1 or later) to a bigger value then close the window.

  57. You can copy and give this program to anyone, but not earn money from it unless you have a written permission of the author (that's me!).
  58. Please, remember to upload the new 3Wiz! wherever you find the old version!
